One of the leading men in Bollywood, Akshay Kumar is planning to make a cross-cultural film on Canada with their favorite sport ice hockey, as the main theme of the movie. He decided this when he ran for the Winter Olympic Torch Relay in minus eight degrees.
Akshay says,”“I love hockey, and o am in the processing making this film. I will start work on it next year.” Ice hockey is a very famous game in Canada and he wants to show that how this game has closed all the cultural gaps between people. He is also keen on making a Punjabi movie he says, “I am a Punjabi and I love the language. I have just done a small role in a Punjabi film, and I won’t rule out any film in the future.”
This bollwood star also has a house in Canada with a permanent residence status, said “Canada is like a second home to me. I love Canada. Though the weather here is cold, people are very warm.” Akshay’s connection with Canada is very old. He came to Canada in 1995 and since then he is in Love with Canada.
He says, “seven-eight of my films have been shot in Toronto and Vancouver, and six of them have done very well. So I have special connections with this country.” He also mentioned that the people in Canada were very helpful, when he bought his father there for medical treatment.
Akshay thanks everyone in Canada for inviting him and giving him the privilege for carrying the Olympic Torch. He says, “It is a dream come true. I am honored and privileged to have been selected as an official torchbearer for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic torch relay. I would like to thank Canadians for this honor and recognition.”
Akshay is very happy that Toronto is hosting the Bollywood Oscars in 2012. “I am very happy that the event is coming to Toronto. It will be a great honor for Canada,” he said. Although Akki is not very pleased with his movies this year he said, “this year three to four films did not do well.”
