Milenge Milenge - Movie Review

Cast :: Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Aarti Chhabria, Satish Shah

The lead pair of the film is isolated for years and suddenly wants to find each other frantically without having any contact details of the other. Had there been a similar scenario in the current context they could have effortlessly found out each other through social networking websites. In that sense, this film delayed by almost half a decade appears unbelievable.

Amit (Shahid Kapoor) and Priya (Kareena Kapoor) meet at a Youth festival in Bangkok. The attraction is instant and they spend days together cavorting around Bangkok City together. At the end of the festival when they are preparing to come back to Delhi, Amit loses Priya’s trust and she decides to end the relationship. Amit tries to regain her trust by telling her that are destined to be together and Priya decides that if it is fate that they should be together, they will find each other Delhi again, Although both do not know each other’s whereabouts in Delhi.

Years go by and both of them are about to be married, but each still has this nagging feeling that the other was his/her one true love. Of course fate conspires to bring them back together (after about a dozen very interesting near misses) as they each simultaneously undertake one last attempt to find one another just before they get married to someone else.

So is all of life pre determined, even who our soul mate is? That's the theme explored in Milenge Milenge , a delightful fairytale of a romantic comedy that makes you fall in love all over again

This time Satish Kaushik doesn’t seek inspiration from his regular South territory but opts to remake the Hollywood film Serendipity (2001). The continuous attempts of the couple to find each other in the second half also reminds of Boney Kapoor’s earlier film Sirf Tum .

Both Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor are earnest and their chemistry is credible. But why do every other character artist from Satish Shah to Delnaz Paul end up hamming. Panini Rajkumar (Rajkumar’s younger son) is plastic personified. Aarti Chhabria and Sarfaraz Khan lack screen presence.

Watch it only if you are just interested to see Kareena when the term size zero wasn’t coined. Else Milenge Milenge doesn’t score much above zero.

Milenge Milenge - Music Review

Cast :: Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Aarti Chhabria, Satish Shah

It is rather strange that despite names like Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Himesh Reshammiya and Satish Kaushik involved in Milenge Milenge, you are a little wary about what the music of the film has to offer. Reason being that the elapsed time between the creation of these compositions and now, which accounts to almost half a decade. But then once you jog your memory, you realise that it was 5-7 years back when Himesh Reshammiya had come up with some unforgettable songs in films like Tere Naam, Aitraaz and Humraaz. Due to that very reason, you play on Milenge Milenge to check out if the old world charm prevails once again as the composer pairs up with his long standing lyricist Sameer.

What one gets to hear at the very beginning of the album though is the song 'Kuch To Baaki Hai' which has been composed very recently. This is one song where lyrics hold far more weight than composition and singing because of its topical appeal as well as the fact that it merges real and reel life. The world is aware about Shahid-Kareena break up and since the movie too deals with a break up and then the ultimate reunion, lyrics like 'Sab Khatm Hoke Bhi Tere Mere Darmiyaan Kuch To Baaki Hai' couldn't have been timed better. Add to that the fact that Himesh Reshammiya composes and sings with his heart truly in and you have a chartbuster song up your sleeve.

If there was ever a song that made an instant impact, 'Kuch To Baaki Hai' will find it's place right up there. Despite its sad theme, the song entertains and as does it's 'bright mix' which has Vineet Singh coming up with an interesting vocal percussion. There is also another 'remix version' and one doesn't mind the repetition at all due to the song's catchy appeal.

From here on, the music belongs to the era gone by. Are there any reasons to complain? Not at all as what one gets to hear is Alka Yagnik, the singer who was once a force to reckon with and today has been picking up assignments very sparsely. She leads from the front as she gets into a happy outing with the title song 'Milenge Milenge'. A stage song which has Kareena Kapoor swaying to the melody, it also features Jayesh Gandhi, who was once a regular with Reshammiya, giving vocals for Shahid Kapoor. A song about hope when it comes to meeting your someone special at least once more in life, 'Milenge Milenge' has a certain sweetness to it which is exemplified further due to Alka's vocals. The song also sees a repeat version for itself with Himesh Reshammiya taking centre stage and Shreya Ghoshal giving him support. This time around, the proceedings become far more sober as Reshammiya goes low key in his rendition.

What follows next is as an even slower track, 'Tum Chain Ho', for which Reshammiya summons Sonu Nigam to do the job. Remember the kind of soft love songs that the composer used to compose for Salman Khan many years back? 'Tum Chain Ho' belongs to the same category and though it does take time to catch the melody here, it does linger on after a while. If you have liked the kind of songs that Sonu had sung in his non-film albums like 'Deewana', 'Jaan' and 'Yaad' then you would pick this one too from the shelves. A love song where Alka Yagnik gives good company to Sonu, it also sees an unplugged version by Vineet Singh which actually turns out to be a surprise package. This version is the one which can actually be played in loop and enjoyed for hours at stretch.

The song which turns out to be a definite winner though is 'Ishq Ki Galli' which takes one back to the kind of songs that Dharmesh Darshan-Suneel Darshan-Nadeem Shravan used to have in the films during the late 90s and early 2000s. If you have loved that genre of music where 'qawallis' from the aforementioned combination used to entice audience in thousands, especially from interiors, then 'Ishq Ki Galli' is the one for you. Add to that the fact that it is Rahat Fateh Ali Khan who leads from the front and it is hard to imagine this song not reaching out to its target audience. An immensely catchy number with love as the central element of the proceedings, 'Ishq Ki Gali' sees good support coming from Jayesh Gandhi and later finds a good 'remix version' for itself which actually manages to get the feet tapping.

Lastly comes an Alka Yagnik solo, 'Hare Kanch Ki Chuddiyan'. With references to 'Mehendi', 'Radha' and 'Shyam', this one truly belongs to the earlier part of the current decade and at maximum makes one recollect the kind of music which was composed back then. Rest assured, if released during that time period, it would have done reasonably well. However, despite the sweetness and innocence that Alka Yagnik brings in her voice, the song is just about passable.

Milenge Milenge gives a little more than what one may have expected out of this album. Thankfully for the makers, the music hasn't lost its edge over the years and has the potential in it to entertain audience from the current generation as well. Himesh Reshammiya has created tunes which belong to the heartland of the country and hasn't gone ballistic on Western influences. In fact there is a certain Indian feel which is prevalent throughout the score of Milenge Milenge which would help audiences, especially the ones which may not necessarily belong to the metropolitan cities, to identify with the score. Add to that the fact there is bound to be immense craze around the coming together of Shahid-Kareena which would be further complimented by an intense promotional campaign and there could well be a surprise winner round the corner.

Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai - Movie Review

Cast :: Ritesh Deshmukh, Jaqueline Fernandes, Farah Khan, Ruslaan Mumtaz, Satish Shah, Sonal Sehgal, Vishal Malhotra, Supriya Pilgaonkar

Love stories seem to be the fav genre of dream merchants here. I've a hunch, if we ever do a count of romantic films made in Bollywood, it would easily score over other genres. The question is, how innovative can a love story get in today's times? Milap Zaveri provides the answer: Man from Earth, woman from Venus.

Having penned some likable comic capers in the past [MASTI, HEYY BABYY], Milap's directorial debut JAANE KAHAN SE AAYI HAI has liberal doses of light moments dominating the first half of the film and heartache and reunion following soon after, in its post-interval portions.

JAANE KAHAN SE AAYI HAI works for its light moments mainly. It's bizarre to think of a love story between a human and an alien, but Milap garnishes it well with assorted characters, sets the story in the film industry and has several laugh-inducing moments. Resultantly, the first half is paisa vasool in filmi lingo.

But the problem arises when the focus shifts to the prem kahani in its second half. For, the story follows the trodden path [it becomes a love triangle] and embarks on the same old route that all love stories usually embark upon. If Milap had the courage to think out of the box, he should've ensured that the film remained true to its essence. Why didn't he think of an equally wacky second hour?

Notwithstanding its predictable second half, JAANE KAHAN SE AAYI HAI is a decent watch that provides ample laughs.

JAANE KAHAN SE AAYI HAI is the story of Rajesh [Riteish Deshmukh], a simple Gujarati boy who's been looking for love since he was a baby. Thoroughly unsuccessful in his endeavours, he nearly gives up till he meets Natasha [Sonal Sehgal].

Desh [Ruslaan Mumtaz] is the youngest superstar in the country. Mothers want to adopt him and their daughters want to marry him. But when will he find the girl of his dreams? Their worlds turn upside down when Tara [Jacqueline Fernandez], an alien from Venus, lands on Earth in the search of true love.

Milap tickles your funny bone at the very outset. The story of a loser, his search for true love, his 'naughty' father, his 'oversexed' friend and his experiences at his work place [on a film set] bring a constant smile on your face. In fact, one of the key factors why the first half works is because the casting is just right and the actors carry off the assigned roles so well.

But the second half fumbles because the story gets very old-fashioned. If the alien could travel all the way to earth to find love, why couldn't she profess love to the man she loves the most? Why develop human emotions all of a sudden?

This is Milap's directorial debut and he clearly shows a flair for comic entertainers. Sajid-Wajid's music is pleasant, with the title track standing out. Attar Singh Saini's cinematography is perfect.

Riteish enacts his part efficiently. That he's at home in comedy is well-known by now, but the actor is equally at ease in emotional moments and also romantic sequences. Jacqueline is easy on the eyes. In fact, she seems more comfortable this time. Vishal Malhotra is superb and contributes enormously in making the proceedings lively. Ruslaan carries the teen heart-throb look very well. Sonal Sehgal is competent.

Farah Khan is a complete natural. Satish Shah is excellent. Supriya Pilgaonkar does well too. Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra, Sajid Khan and Amrita Rao make special appearances in the film.

On the whole, JAANE KAHAN SE AAYI HAI is a light-hearted entertainer targeted at the youth. It has a thoroughly entertaining first half, but a routine second half. A decent watch!

Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai - Music Review

Cast :: Ritesh Deshmukh, Jaqueline Fernandes, Farah Khan, Ruslaan Mumtaz, Satish Shah, Sonal Sehgal, Vishal Malhotra, Supriya Pilgaonkar

Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai is an upcoming Hindi movie of Bollywood which is directed by Milap Zaveri. Music director of the movie is Sajid-Wajid. Lyrics of Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai music has been composed by Sameer.

Sajid-Wajid touched a high with Veer but it seems they won’t be able to maintain that high for long. Still, Jaane Kahan se aayi hai is a bit better than their average work before Veer. The album has just four songs and two remixes which are more or less all okay. Here is a review.

Jaane Kahan se aayi hai is an average or slightly above average album where Sajid-Wajid seem to be trying hard to give variety and good music in a short album, but seem to falter at points. Still the album is worth a try and some of the songs can be heard and liked too. Pick: Keh do Zara.

Keh Do Zara” song of Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai music is sung by Rashid Ali. The song tunes on slow-paced band music. Lyric of the song is very different with English lyric. “Keh Do Zara” song is inspired by western music. Lyric of the song is really very unique and melody. Music of the song is also very appreciating which tunes on thematic lyric.

Nacha Main” song of Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai album is sung by Sonu Nigam and Soumya Raoh. The song tunes on fast-paced band music. Lyric of the song is also very fast on the band music. “Nacha Main” song of Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai Hindi music has introduced very bold music just like disco.

Keh Do Zara (Remix)” song of Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai 2010 music is also song by Rashid Ali. Music of the remix version a little bit faster than “Keh Do Zara” original track. Lyric of “Keh Do Zara (Remix)” is also very fast in comparison of original track. Remix version of “Keh Do Zara” soundtrack is not much appreciating.

Koi Rok Bhi Lo” song of Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai 2010 album is sung by Sonu Nigam and Sunidhi Chauhan. Lyric and music of the song is very similar to “Jaane Nahin Denge Tujhe” song of 3 Idiots music. The song tunes on very slow-paced music and poetic lyric.

Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai” song of Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai album 2010 is sung by Shaan. The song is dedicated to the movie title. “Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai” song also tunes on band music. Lyric of the song is a little bit different from others.

Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai (Remix)” song of Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai music is also sung by Shaan. There is no difference in both soundtracks – original and remix.

Overall, songs of Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai music are average. Sajid-Wajid has tried to put something new only “Keh Do Zara” song. His effort is not very appreciating just like Veer music. Despite it, lyricist of Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai music – Sameer has tried to put something new in almost all songs.
