Sonam Kapoor learning acting

An actor par-excellence Anil Kapoor is not really happy about this decision but his daughter Sonam is not paying heed.

The young lady has enrolled herself into an acting course in New York this summer. Maybe it’s her way of beating the Mumbai heat or taking a break from the offers (or the lack of them) that she has in Bollywood.

Or maybe she’s realised she needs to give a touch-up on her acting skills and is doing the course to enhance them. We don’t know the exact reason but we can tell you it’s going to be a crash course for a couple of months and she will be renting an apartment in Manhattan while she studies.

Her friends who studied with her in Boston will also be staying with her in her pad and while she’s there, they plan to make the most of it.

Anil wanted her to stay in Mumbai and make her presence felt among filmmakers and also sign more projects.

But Sonam would have none of it and has made up her mind.

Take your fathers word Sonam baby...he is experienced isn't he??

Irrfan turn down film offers

Irrfan Khan

Irrfan Khan is one of the most versatile actors in Bollywood, but for now Irrfan Khan has stopped signing on new assignments because he wants to focus on the role of a steeplechase runner in Tigmanshu Dhulia's "Paan Singh Tomar".

Irrfan Khan is now devoting every waking minute to practice the steeple chase.

Irrfan in Namesake

Irrfan said "This is the most physically and mentally demanding film of my career. If I give attention to anything else, I won't be able to do justice to this role," Irrfan has also proved his mettle in films like "Maqbool", "The Namesake" and Oscar winning film "Slumdog Millionaire".

"You see, steeplechase is a far more complicated form of marathon. It demands a continuous rhythm as one runs and jumps. It's the most difficult task I've ever undertaken as an actor," he added.

Unable to cope with the heavy demands on his body and mind, the 46-year-old Irrfan has stopped work on all other projects. “I’ve steeplechase experts constantly working on me. I’m trying to stretch my body to its limit. I have to look convincing as this long-distance steeplechase runner. Otherwise, the film falls flat. I can’t afford that risk at this stage of my career.

Irrfan also said that “There’re lots of talks for new projects, both national and international. But I’m not signing anything. I have to devote all my time to getting the steeplechase right.”

No regrets about Slumdog : A R Rahman

A R Rahman

A R Rahman, One of Oscar nominee, is not worried about the people who complain that the hit film "Slumdog Millionaire" casts India in a negative light withe its portrayal picture of Mumbai slums. Rahman has no regrets as he is a part of Slumdog Millionaire. He suggests the critics not to criticise the movie instead of make it own film.

Rahman believes that Slumdog Millionaire represents the past reality of our country as well as also expresses the economic growth of India in a beautiful way. In Oscar, Rahman has been called for his three Oscar nominations for "Slumdog Millionaire" -- for best original score and the songs "O ... Saya" and "Jai Ho".

A R Rahman
"In my opinion if creative people want to comment on a film, and if I were a director and felt that way, I would make another film and prove my point and say this is what India is about," Rahman told before returning home to work on film scores before participating in the February 22 Oscars awards show.
